Black fuzzy scarf
I have finished the scarf for my boys mom. I really like how it turned out. It is one strand of Lion Brand Yarn Micro Spun, a sport yarn, color is Ebony and one strand of eyelash yarn by Baby Monkey, shade 12. CO 24 st and I knitted till it was 54 inches.
I almost want to keep the scarf! :) Maybe I will make a matching one.
snake and pocket scarves
I have finished the two scarves I have been working on for my boy's niece and nephew. The kids live in Alaska so I figure they can use warm scarves. I have been working on them for quite awhile. The first is a pattern I got from my
knit knack kit. The pattern is for a worm but I made it green and added a tongue. I also added a pocket for fun.

The next is a purple scarf. I made up the pattern. 25 stiches on sive 10 needles till it was 40 inches long. Then folded over the end, about 4 inches, to make the pocket. I added butterfly buttons to make it a bit girlier. The yarn was Lion Brand Yarn
homespun. yummy yarn!

I hope the kids like them! :)
bag of tricks

This is my bag of tricks. All the things I carry with me when I am knitting on the go. Care to take a peek inside?

From left to right. Two notebooks. One is graph paper and the other is lines where I write down my ideas and how I create patterns. Next is my stitch 'n bitch book. A good reasorce of techneics and I can show people how knitting has changes, then teach them how to knit!
Then we have my gauge guide. Pens and pencils. Skinny bag. Little bag.

Here is a page for the book.
In the begining...
I started this blog for myself. A place where I can keep track of all my projects. If people like reading it, rock on! I am sure the layout will change all the time. So far I have changed it twice and it is only a week old!
I have always been crafty. I like glue, paint, magazine clippings and photography. I can't draw to save my life! I have sewing since I can remember. When I was like 5 years old I was using my mom's sewing machine, making doll dresses. I zipped over my fingers. I came running to my mother upset that I was bleeding on the pretty dress I was making. I had sewed both thumbs and index fingers together. It was awhile before I was allowed anywhere near the machine again. Not that it mattered, it hated me. When I was in the 6th grade I started taking sewing lessons at a fabric store. The first year we learned how to do all sorts of things. The the last to years the teacher was to busy to really teach us anything so they just let us use what ever fabric we wanted and the machines. I miss that...
I started knitting last summer. I started because of a little book called
stitch 'n bitch. I had wanted to learn how to knit, but not old lady knitting... I taught myself and took it slow in the begining. It was awhile before it was fun or easy. Now I am hooked. I don't make large progects, but little things to keep my attention. I have been working on making my own patterns and having lots of fun!
So I hope you enjoy my little crafty spot in cyberspace!
